DESCRIPTION:Join us for Lawndale Christian Legal Center’s 10th Annual Benefit Gala: The Justice Rising Gala on Thursday\, November 4\, 2021 celebrating our 12th year of community-based\, holistic legal services in North Lawndale! This year’s event will be a hybrid event – we will host an in-person event at the Chicago History Museum\, while providing a live streaming event to those who purchase virtual tickets! \nThe in-person gala will feature a tasting-style dinner showcasing several Chicago restaurants which will each bring individual portions of their signature dishes. The event will also feature tournament style fundraising! The in-person and virtual experiences will include a program with a keynote speech from Rodney Brown\, one of our Partner in Justice Awardees\, which is presented to an extraordinary individual who demonstrates commitment and passion to pursuing justice\, equity\, and opportunity for young people. Our other Partner in Justice Awardees will also be honored: Yolanda Fields\, Adam Alonso\, and Matt DeMateo. Both experiences will also feature our Outstanding Staff Award recipient and our Emerging Leader Award recipient\, Deshawn Nelson. Cliff Nellis and Dr. Dennis Deer will present about the exciting future of our organization. We will also have some wonderful entertainment from local musicians. \nThe event will be an extraordinary opportunity to eat well\, to mingle with others who have a passion for restorative justice while participating in activities\, and to support LCLC in our mission to transform the criminal justice system in Cook County and beyond!
