The Great Chicago Bed Race is the Chicago Furniture Bank’s first annual high-energy\, high-impact fundraiser where teams of 5+ people build and race rolling bed frames to support a serious cause: ending furniture poverty. \nTeams will transform bed frames (provided by CFB) into custom racers and go head-to-head down a stretch of road in a hilarious\, fast-paced competition. With prizes for speed\, creativity\, and team spirit—plus food\, drinks\, and fun for all—this is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of home\, dignity\, and community. \nAll proceeds help the Chicago Furniture Bank furnish homes for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness. \nLet’s turn the streets into a raceway—and empty rooms into homes. \nHow it Works:  \nTeams of five—four runners and one lucky rider—race a twin bed on wheels down a 75-yard track in a fast and fun competition! \nWhether you’re a local business\, group of friends\, or family team\, you’re invited to bring the energy and the creativity. Teams decorate their beds and dress up to compete not just for speed\, but also for the coveted Best Dressed award. \nEven better? Each team raises funds to help furnish homes for Chicagoans in need—making a lasting impact with every lap. \nBed Race Fast Facts \nGoals: (1) To provide racers with a fun-filled event\, (2) spread awareness about the Chicago Furniture Bank\, and (3) fundraise to furnish 4\,000 homes for local families in need. \nTeams: Teams can be made of any 5+ people. Racing teams consist of 4 pushers and one rider. Teams are encouraged to dress up and decorate their beds in theme. No pre-work required of teams besides registering\, but fundraising is encouraged. Beds are provided. \nPrice: Teams are $250 total\, $50 for each person. The fee goes towards the mission of the Furniture Bank.  \nDate & Location:\nSunday\, September 28\, 2025\nMidwest Coast Brewing\, Chicago\n9:30 AM – 1:00 PM
