A long time ago, there were no pride parades or hashtags. People showed their love in quiet ways—through whispers, small looks, or maybe a secret letter. Even when it was hard, they still found ways to love, like lighting a small candle in the dark.
Join us for a special evening as we welcome Aaron from the LGBT National Help Center to talk with us about LGBTQ+ history, support, and the power of being yourself.
We’ll also be watching a 2015 documentary that shares the real stories of LGBTQ people from the past. It includes home videos that have never been seen before—some from back in the 1930s . These clips show how people lived and loved, even when they had to hide who they were, a reminder that the LGBTQ+ community has always been here.
